FILIPINA POWER AT THE BRISBANE JAMBOREE

FILIPINA POWER AT THE BRISBANE JAMBOREE

WILLOWBANK RACEWAY, QLD

Beyond the roar of 2,000-horsepower engines and the smell of burning rubber at the 2026 Brisbane Jamboree, a powerful story of cultural pride, resilience, and trackside dedication unfolded on the main stage.

Filipina model Chymbeelyn de Pasion (right side of photo) secured 1st runner-up in the official Brisbane Jamboree Babe Competition, proudly representing Oceania College of Tech (OCT). For Nomad Dirt Culture (NDC) founder Jocelyn Dare, who is herself half-Filipina, the achievement highlights a growing wave of representation within Australian motorsport culture.

While motorsport fans saw a polished, high-energy runway performance, the true story happened minutes before Chymbeelyn stepped onto the stage. A heavy fall backstage left her right knee scraped, swollen, and bleeding. Pushing through the pain, she walked the ramp without missing a beat, radiating confidence before quietly heading to the medical tent to get patched up prior to the winners' announcement.

That level of quiet resilience reflects the true, unseen work of trackside ambassadors. Far beyond the glamour, the women who represent brands at events like Jamboree are the pulse of paddock culture. Standing on asphalt for hours under the harsh Queensland sun, navigating high-stress environments in heels, and constantly engaging with thousands of fans, they serve as the vital bridge between sponsors, teams, and car culture enthusiasts.

"Motorsport culture isn't just built in the pit garages—it’s built by the people who bring life, energy, and human connection to the trackside," says Jocelyn Dare, Founder of Nomad Dirt Culture. "Seeing a fellow Filipina show that level of grit, walking through an injury with a smile and owning the stage is pure Pinay power. It’s an honour to celebrate the beauty, toughness and work ethic these women bring to our community."

NDC continues to champion the unsung heroes of grassroots and elite motorsport alike, from the builders in the garages to the trackside creators and brand ambassadors keeping the lifestyle vibrant.
