The freehold land and complex housing Carina International Speedway at 104 Alex Walker Road, Alloway, has officially hit the market, listed for sale with offers over $2 million.

Real estate records and public listings confirm that the 41.77-hectare (100-acre) property, situated approximately 12 kilometres from Bundaberg, is being offered for sale. According to public listing information provided by marketing agent Trudy George of Four Walls Realty, the site has been held by the founding family since its construction in 1966.

An aerial photograph taken on 21st May 1967—roughly one year after the speedway opened—shows the early footprint of the clay oval. According to local historical records, the venue hosted major championship events in its opening era, including the Queensland Solo Motorcycle Speedway Championship on that very date in May 1967.

Over six decades, the track evolved into a major regional complex. Most recently, the venue demonstrated its ongoing drawcard power by hosting the Allan Butcher Super Sedan Classic.

According to current real estate listing information, the property's specialized venue infrastructure includes:

• Race & Operational Infrastructure: Control tower, steward's tower, stadium lighting, 3-phase power and a scrutineering shed.

• Spectator Facilities: Viewing mounds, a grandstand, bar facilities and amenities blocks.

• Property Features: Worker housing on-site and water security via two dams.

In a recent official public update, the track teased their upcoming calendar with the statement: "WATCH THIS SPACE... BECAUSE THE 26/27 SEASON IS GOING TO BE HUGE!"

This indicates that upcoming events and seasonal planning remain active while the freehold land is offered for sale, signaling that the venue intends to maintain business as usual for drivers and fans.

Following the public listing, an anonymous motorsport fan who tipped off NDC shared a sentiment widely echoed across the grassroots community:

"I thought it would be a waste to be used for anything but speedway," the tipster told NDC. "The area needs more places to race dirt track."

The listing of longstanding speedway facilities across Australia frequently highlights a broader issue within the national motorsport landscape: the ongoing loss and transition of regional sporting venues.
