River 94.9 Lockyer Valley Speedway brought the track to the crowd today, holding a race car display at the 2026 Gatton Show, held right at the Gatton Showgrounds, the same site as Lockyer Valley Speedway itself. If you’re looking to get out of Brisbane for a little day trip, this would be the perfect place to experience!
Fans got to walk right up near the main entry gate, meet the drivers, grab some merchandise, and let the kids sit behind the wheel of genuine race cars with the team expected to run laps around the track later in the day for those wanting to scratch the off-season itch.

Racing at the Gatton Showgrounds dates back to the 1960s, making Lockyer Valley Speedway one of the longer-standing grassroots tracks in South East Queensland. Run by the Lockyer Valley Speedway Association, the venue features a 515m decomposed granite oval and hosts classes including Production Sedans, Nostalgia Sedans, Street Stocks, Micro Sprints, V8 Dirt Modifieds, Legend Cars and more.
