Mildura continues to prove why it is the beating heart of Australian speedway, with local leaders stepping up to back the region's top talent on the world stage. Member for Mildura Jade Benham MP officially welcomed 12-year-old SGP4 World Champion Blake Schlein into her office, throwing her full support behind the young track prodigy.
Schlein dominated the international field in Sweden to capture the SGP4 World Championship, bringing the massive world title trophy back home to regional Victoria. While the trophy is already locked in the family display case, Schlein’s official World Championship medal will be presented on the global stage at the FIM Awards Gala in Spain alongside legends like Marc Marquez.
Recognizing the sheer effort required to take regional Aussie racers overseas, Benham officially joined "Blake’s Purple Race Team" to help back his ongoing campaign. Benham credited the relentless work of Schlein’s parents, reinforcing that world-class success starts in local family workshops long before the gate drops on foreign soil.
