As the Queensland State Government moves forward with infrastructure plans for metropolitan Olympic venues, a massive grassroots community movement has delivered an undeniable mandate on the city’s fringe. As reported by the community on local channels, the official consultation process for the proposed Moreton Motorsport Park is drawing massive engagement, with initial counts revealing a staggering 4,900 formal submissions with 85% directly in favour of the development.
This historic wave of community support arrives at a critical juncture for the project. As documented in a formal update letter to Member for Pumicestone Ariana Doolan MP, published on the Moreton Motorsport Park digital channels, project facilitators Corbet’s Group confirmed that the Queensland Government has extended the Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) consultation period to 25 June 2026. This extension allows the family-owned enterprise, which has operated for over 50 years, to provide additional consultation opportunities and directly engage with Beachmere residents and community groups to ensure absolute transparency.
However, the overwhelming local endorsement reported by the community highlights what many view as a glaring double standard in how public infrastructure, taxpayer funds, and cultural heritage are prioritised in Queensland.

North Harbour and the Environnent ,was Pushed through ,We went to Buy a New Home there !

As a communtiy in a small coastal village we are undoubtedly concerned. We c aren’t against the sport at all, just the location.
After extensive research from credible resources we have confirmed our concerns.
Traffic gridlock stemming from two lane road which is where the tracks Beachmere Rd location is which is a major concern. We have traffic build up now even with our small population. It’s mind boggling to think of the traffic situating when we have the 10,000 ppl plus spectators arriving for a day at the track.
The disruption to the flood plans which is inevitable, is a huge concern on so many levels. The site where the motorsport park is proposed to be is a flood plain. The negatives affects of disrupting a flood plain not only for the site in question but to adjoining residential properties, surrounding roads, streams, creeks, river, and eventually the Ramsar Conservation Park then flows into the Pumescestone Passage and it’s network of bays.
The environment is a massive concern. The Beachmere Conservation Park is Ramsar registered where a significant number of endangered species live. The potential of flood plain disruption with inevitable damaging outcomes is of a very real concern.
Build your Motorsport Park by all means, but build it in a different location where you aren’t going to negatively impact our environment with its numerous vulnerable flora and fauna species nor affect our peaceful and uniquely beautiful coastal village.

The extension was provided as the Corbet Group failed to consult with the Beachmere community.
The majority of support received to date has been submitted by MMP fans who had been aware of the project over 12 months. A huge campaign was undertaken by the Corbet Group to gain support with links to what fans were told was to register their support.
Beachmere residents only became aware of the details when the official MID submission process started, via advice from local councillor and member.
Details contained within the MID have raised serious concerns around, flooding, traffic and noise.
