THREE RIDERS, THREE POINTS, ONE CROWN: World Speedway Title Comes Down to Historical Showdown in Toruń

TORUŃ, POLAND

Nine exhausting rounds across seven countries have produced the closest World Championship battle in modern speedway history. Tonight, at the iconic Marian Rose Motoarena in Toruń, Poland, three men step onto the clay separated by just three single points with the 2026 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Title hanging in the balance.

Entering the ultimate round 10 finale, Great Britain’s Robert Lambert holds the slimmest possible margin at the top of the standings with 142 points after a dominant second half of the season. Sitting just one point behind on 141 is five-time World Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik of Poland, who stands on the precipice of sports immortality—a victory tonight would grant Zmarzlik a record-breaking sixth world crown, matching legends Tony Rickardsson and Ivan Mauger.

Lurking just three points off the lead is Australia's own Brady Kurtz. Having finished runner-up by a single point last season, the Aussie sensation arrives in Poland within striking distance of joining Jason Doyle as the only Australian riders in modern history to claim both Individual World Championship glory and World Team gold.

With the knockout qualifying sprint offering bonus points and every heat race carrying championship implications, the math is simple: there is no room for error, no tactical safety net, and only one trophy.

Capturing the tension trackside is internationally renowned lensman Taylor Lanning Photography, whose high-speed imagery documents the world's elite speedway riders at full throttle.

FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Standings (Heading into Toruń Finale):

  1. Robert Lambert (GBR) – 142 pts

  2. Bartosz Zmarzlik (POL) – 141 pts (-1)

  3. Brady Kurtz (AUS) – 139 pts (-3)
