The public consultation period for the proposed Moreton Motorsport Park Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) has been formally extended to Thursday, 25 June 2026. The department has also requested an additional community consultation meeting during this timeframe to ensure all local planning questions are thoroughly addressed.

Official data shows a landslide 3,500 submissions have been recorded, with 77.8% in favor of the development.

The public consultation extension reflects the standard regulatory process required for a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID). According to the department's update, the extended timeframe ensures all regional economic impacts are fully assessed alongside local infrastructure requirements, including traffic management, noise buffering and environmental protections.

⚠️ Community Standards Notice

Nomad Dirt Culture maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for ageism, bullying, or personal abuse across all media channels.

Our mission is to protect the integrity of grassroots motorsport. We recognise that isolated bad behaviour from specific corners of the online space and public discussion does not represent the values, heritage or reality of the wider motorsport community. True racing culture is built on family, mutual respect and community standards.

Hostile behavior directed toward local residents who raise infrastructure concerns is entirely unacceptable. Such actions damage the reputation of the sporting community and may risk compromising crucial development approvals. We strongly advise all enthusiasts to engage in the extended process with absolute professionalism, focusing strictly on facts, data and structural solutions.

This need to happen. 100% we need this facility. Bring in so much financial benefit to the community and surrounding areas. From the flow on effect. More so than any foosball stadium ever will.

Has the flooding of this area been assessed?

I think a big motorsport precinct with a dirt speedway and a motorbike track would be an amazing addition to Queensland. It’s not just great for the sport, but it would be huge for the whole city. Big events will book out local hotels and bring tons of business to everyone around like servos, cafes, and all the other local shops.

I stopped visiting Brisbane after Archerfield shut, so had to travel to Perth to watch good speedway, South Brisbane needs a speedway and more, a real motorsports venue.
Bring it on.
Why did the Qld govt not buy the Archerfield site ? Much like the NSW govt clowns killed Sydney speedway, over a light rail shunting yard, that could have been put in many places, including Rosehill horse racing track !

Gary Fletcher

Im a yes for this speedway

I support the development, let’s build it

Ray Betts

Support speedway in qld and bring this economic boost to the area.
Every other state has a professional speedway.
It’s embarrassing that we don’t.
Stop mucking around and build it

Guys this will be great for the Northside , We all complain about nothing for kids to do , kids getting in trouble this would be a big one for something to take your family on the Northside , it’s called making memories with speedway , All my kids grew up around speedway in NZ and they all still talk about the memories they have , nothing better than getting your kids out of the house and doing the family thing ,This is def what we need , my suggestion to the old folk that are having a cry buy some earmuffs, remember you guys were all young once and I’m sure you had some great memories, bring it on let’s live a little

Heather Smith
